Book Canberra Excursions (BCE) is an ‘always on’ online marketing tool that uses sophisticated technology to stimulate travel through fast tracking users through the Awareness > Engagement > Consideration > Conversion funnel.

BCE comprises Australian Government, ACT Government, Private, Tertiary and Trust-run attractions.

BCE’s January 2019 launch led to a record 176,366 school students visiting National Attractions that year, with 150,236 students visiting from interstate – accordingly, BCE won New Tourism Business at the 2019 Canberra Region Tourism Awards.

The initial 9 BCE Partners has grown to 10 Partners and 9 Associate Members, a 111%increase.

The BCE has assisted many attractions to increase bookings.

The visibility of smaller attractions as part of the BCE has acted as a promotional opportunity, giving them a boost against other sector members.

As an example, in 2019 the National Arboretum Canberra saw a 67% increase of interstate student numbers over the previous year, and an increase of 44% in these students participating in facilitated programs, due their inclusion in the BCE.

During the first half of 2019 individual BCE attractions experienced an average 11.17% increase in interstate student visitation to attractions, with an overall increase of 3.5% in interstate student visitation being achieved, assisting the achievement of a record number of students visiting Canberra that year.
